Silvery Checkerspot (Chlosyna nycteis)
Before 2005, there seemed to be just a local population at Eno River State Park, Old Cole Mill Road access. But in August 2005, they popped up in a number of locations in Durham and Orange Counties, and in 2006 their numbers seem to be taking off.
